Ultrasonography


This is a test that observes the inside of the body by irradiating the body with ultrasound, a sound that cannot be heard by the ear, and creating a picture of the reflected waves. 
Since ultrasound examination utilizes the properties of sound, it is completely harmless to the human body and is safe 
enough to even examine a fetus in the womb.

Upper abdominal ultrasound

The most common ultrasound test is to place an ultrasound probe in the upper abdomen and create real-time images to examine organs such as the liver, gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, spleen, and kidneys.

Lower abdominal ultrasound

An ultrasound probe is placed in the lower abdomen to produce real-time images of organs such as the ovaries, uterus, bladder, appendix, and prostate.

Compared to Western women, Korean women have a higher incidence of dense breasts, which means they have a larger amount of breast tissue. An accurate diagnosis can be made by performing breast ultrasound in addition to mammography.

Carotid ultrasound

This test evaluates the presence of stenosis and blood flow velocity of the carotid artery that supplies blood to the brain, and measures the intima-media thickness of the internal carotid artery to predict the risk of stroke.
