CT (Computational Tomography)

This is an examination that reconstructs X-rays that have passed through the body using a computer to create cross-sectional images and three-dimensional stereoscopic images of the body.  It is an examination method
suitable for taking pictures of moving organs such as the heart, lungs, and internal organs.
Features of CT

This is a test that images pathological findings in internal organs and tissues of the body.

The machine rotates around the patient lying on the large cylindrical machine with the X-ray generator, and uses a computer to create a three-dimensional stereoscopic image, which is then visualized in 3D to show the internal structure of the human body more clearly.
It is characterized by minimizing patient discomfort and shortening treatment time because it takes pictures at a high speed.

Why it should be SM Radiology Department?

Equipped with excellent cutting-edge CT medical equipment developed by Siemens in Germany

Accurate examination is possible for patients who have difficulty controlling their movements, such as critically ill patients, elderly people, and children receiving radiation therapy at high shooting speeds.
Since effective radiation exposure is controlled in all examinations, unnecessary radiation exposure to patients can be controlled.
4D-CT, which can check the movement of organs in real time in all organs of the human body, as well as lung tumors and liver tumors, can be applied, and this can be confirmed again as a real-time 3D image including the time domain, so the movement of tumors and surrounding normal tissues can be accurately predicted.

Coronary angiography available

In the case of a cardiovascular CT scan, it is possible to examine the presence or absence of heart disease abnormalities, such as calcification of the coronary arteries, the degree of narrowing of the blood vessels, and the degree of abnormality in the heart muscle, in just 8 seconds.

Shortening inspection time

This is a top-of-the-line model that can identify lesions in a short period of time with an ultra-high-speed scan of 0.28 seconds.

Sophisticated 3D image implementation

High-resolution examinations create realistic three-dimensional images, allowing clear visibility of the affected area and observation from all angles, enabling accurate diagnosis of abnormal areas.

It has higher clarity than existing CT.

It has a sharpness that can distinguish up to 0.33 mm in size, enabling diagnosis of microscopic lesions.

Radiation exposure is reduced

With a single X-ray emission, 128 cross-sectional images can be acquired, and the residual radiation can be adjusted appropriately depending on the examiner's body type and the area being examined, thereby reducing radiation exposure.

Precautions during CT scan
CT주의사항.jpg
Precautions during inspection

· Because this is a test that uses radiation, it is recommended that you avoid the test if you are pregnant or there is a possibility that you may be pregnant.

· There may be differences in the examination method, such as holding your breath for several seconds, depending on the area being examined and whether or not contrast dye is used.

If you are undergoing a test that requires the use of angiographic contrast agents

· Fasting for at least 6 hours is required, and if you have experienced any side effects from past contrast media use, you must notify us in advance.

· If you are taking diabetes medication, you should stop taking it the same day and visit a hospital.

· To check your creatinine level or eGFR level, you must bring blood test results from within the last 6 months.
( If you do not have blood test results, you can receive a blood test at our center.)
